Unlike many of the neighborhood’s banquet halls, it operates exclusively as an event space rather than a restaurant, giving the room a more upscale feel from the start.

The food gets excellent reviews, with banquet staples like king crab, Peking duck, and whole steamed fish on the menu. There’s room for 400-plus guests, making Northern Gala particularly appealing for weddings with large family guest lists. The team speaks English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, so parents can discuss menus and logistics directly with the staff.

Some logistical details: elevators make getting to the celebration easier for elderly guests, and a dedicated parking lot is a welcome convenience in Flushing.

Do inquire early given the popularity of this venue. A great choice for couples who want to do a traditional banquet, but in a venue that feels decidely modern.
